Byrd - Ave verum corpus - The Cambridge singers



I love the idea of a score that moves along while you watch, wouldn't it be good to have an e-hymnbook.

A masterpiece, and nicely sung. It is was issued in the Cantiones Sacrae set of 1605, which, like the others, was written for the scratch choirs that were all that were available for Recusant congregations.

This means that it and similar pieces are relatively easy to perform and would not be beyond the ability of a group we might be able to get together - if we can find someone to teach and conduct.
