Pray for Obama

The empty U.S. Capitol where the presidential inauguration of Barack Obama will take place today.
Let us pray for this man who Divine Providence has called to this high office which will have an impact on the whole world.
May he be given the Grace to do what is right and good, and to fear, above all things, God's judgement.

God, our blessed Father, all earthly powers must bow before You.
We pray that You will bless, protect and guide President Barak Hussein Obama.

May he fulfil his responsibilities humbly, worthily and well. By honouring You, and striving to follow Your will, may he secure lasting peace and true freedom, not only for the people entrusted to him, but for all the world.

We offer You this prayer through Christ Who alone is Lord, and Who lives and reigns with You in the unity of the Holy Spirit, now and forever. Amen.

Father, I don't know whether you might like to advertise this on your blog: 'CatholicCulture.org is sponsoring a perpetual (around-the-clock) Rosary for the next 30 days, asking God to bless the new administration with an authentic perception of the Good'. You can sign up for a 15-minute slot. The link is:
