Pope to Visit UK


Various papers and the BBC announce the Holy Father is going to visit the UK next autmn.

That'll put the 'Great' back in Britain even if only for the duration of the Holy Father's stay!

The Torygraph reckons he'll visit Armagh. Much as I'd like to see that, I don't think it will happen. Things may have changed in the Six Counties but not that much.

How wonderful. My husband and I were in Rome last year and were fortunate to be blessed by Papa Benedict during the Angelus at midday what a good and Holy man. Can't wait for him to visit England and for the children to see him (at last).

Of course the nay sayers are toting up the cost, wouldn't the money be better spent on the poor etc, and speculating that the bishops conference is still paying for the last papal visit. People can be so spiteful.

Crux Fidelis - you're right he should be included, St John Ogilvie is a post-reformation martyr of these 'islands' of which Scotland is firmly a part.

Holy Martyrs of England, Wales and Scotland pray for us.
