There is a continual effort made to sign-up adorers to fill all the shifts. I casually suggested to one of the movers-and-shakers of the parish that it would be a good idea to have every E.M of H.C. (and they are legion) agree to fill two hours weekly as pre-requisite to his/her serving in such a privileged capacity. Move&Shake didn't think the idea would fly. Many of our EMsHC would not agree to serve one hour, let alone two!

--WilliamAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31069882.post-50179188181788889432011-01-29T10:30:21.238+00:002011-01-29T10:30:21.238+00:00Dear Father,
Your opinion on the ecumenical events...Dear Father,
Your opinion on the ecumenical events of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, have the advantage of being consistent with your belief as a Catholic. The late and Great John-Paul II's initiative at Assisi did not, and continues to be a sorry source of scandal to many more than just myself.
Your suggestion of inviting a priest from the FSSPX to come to your church and preach, as an act fostering Christian Unity, and your musing on possible consequences, is excellent. It reminds me of a cartoon by John Ryan (creator of Captain Pugwash) in the Catholic Herald, back at the time of the illicit episcopal cosecrations at Econe, and the consequent excommunications. It showed two RC bishops discussing the news and one saying:
"Does this mean that, now they are outside the Church, we will have to start being nice to them?"

On the other hand, the Bishop of Santa Rosa's requirements are so basic, that one wonders why the people he mentions have any pastoral role in the community, if their belief requires confirmation? I suppose that he is doing what new brooms do best....

What a mess Pope Benedict has inherited! May God bless his patient efforts, and those of bishops and priests who follow his lead and instructions, to bring the Church's life into order.B flathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17611595580578224726noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31069882.post-29044385951985684762011-01-29T09:34:21.672+00:002011-01-29T09:34:21.672+00:00I found the accent attractive but given the poor q...I found the accent attractive but given the poor quality of the audio, difficult - sometimes impossible - to follow.
