Self absorbed? Promethean? Neo-Pelagians?

Most probably.

LOL! Yep, but I must say, the look of death in Michelle's eyes...can one really blame Obama? This completely lacks decorum, class, etc...but the Danish PM is pretty I must say.

All of them should be ashamed in this situation, good thing Michelle didn't take part.

Yes, I love her look of embarrassment and contempt.

I have to agree. I was so embarassed for my country when the President gave the Queen an I-Pod several years back.

Arrested development. Rather worrying for those of us who rely on our leaders to be grown up.

Father, Moochie wasn't embarrassed. She was just angry she couldn't fit in the selfie. I Don't know if you saw the follow on sequence of photos, but they were hillarious. It ended with Michelle forcing Comrade Zero to change places with her so she could sit between him and the Danish PM. I'm surprised CaMORON and Barry weren't holding hands. I hope you saw Michelle giving the Danish PM the "death ray stare." Who knew she had that? The US can now save billions on the defense budget by launching her into space and having her stare at Iran or wherever we want "disappeared."

[I think captcha must be messed up, I could read both the word and the number clearly the first time without having to hit "refresh" at least 3 times.]

Nice one Gem!

Thank goodness Obama didn't attend Mrs Thatcher's funeral.

I agree with Genty. We don't expect our leaders to play around in this way in public and surely it was very bad form to do it at this particular ceremony even if it did go on for four hours!

The security there seems to have been decidedly dodgy as they have announced this evening that the man signing next to the speakers (including the American President) was not in fact signing sign language at all merely gibberish! And so far nobody seems to know who he is!

I do hope the actual funeral of Nelson Mandela is more dignified.

Didn't Barak enjoy himself giving the eulogy!!
I was completely turned off by all this adulation of the late Mandela. I don't wish him ill but I cannot bring myself to shed any tears.
I have a friend who is a supporter of Obama. That is one aspect of our friendship which we avoid mentioning these days. I am wondering, however, just how long it will be before God takes a decisive hand and brings this dreadful, sick, world to its knees.

Good thing Pope Francis has never taken a selfie in a questionable setting. ;)

If the GARBAGE BRITISH PRESS don't like it then it probably means some of our leaders to be human after all.

Pity they couldn't get Raoul Castro & Robert Mugabe in it.

There's a great 'vicar at funeral takes selfie' cartoon in today's Daily Mail!

Codgitator: Wouldn't it have been something if he had pulled out an camera and taken a picture of himself on the balcony when he was first elected? I think Cardinal Burke would have pushed him off the balcony.

I don't know what is sadder the inmature, classless behaviour of people like these 3 "leaders" or the adulation heaped upon the late Mr. Mandela by Catholic and other Christian church leaders, all the while ignoring his signing into law the legalization of the murder of defenceless unborn children.
Oh wait I must correct myself, I do know which is far sadder.

I certainly think that taking a selfie in this particular context is inappropriate. However, the bile in some of these comments in not merely inappropriate but completely unChristian.

'completely unChristian' - the homily I sat through compared Mandala to St John the Baptist. both imprisoned, both harbingers of great and good changes. if anyone else who sat through that homily is reading this, to compare the one who prepared the way for Our Saviour, the one who leapt in the womb when Our Lady visited St Elizabeth...in all honesty...under Mandala would 'Elijah', have even survived the womb?

Please don't use a term like arrested development to describe their bad manners. My son's development os severely delayed / arrested but he has better mamnets tjat that.
