A lecture on 'The Early History of the Mass', part of the Benedictus/Order of Malta/London Oratory collaboration 'Architecture of the Mass'. Rev. Dr Uwe Michael Lang C.O., is a member of the Benedictus Academic Team and expert in Church History. Michael is a priest of the Oratory of St Philip Neri in London, where he serves as Parish Priest, and a lecturer in Church History at Heythrop College, University of London. He is a consultor of the Office of Liturgical Celebrations of the Supreme Pontiff, and a former official of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments. He has published in the fields of Patristics and liturgical studies, including the books Turning Towards the Lord: Orientation in Liturgical Prayer and The Voice of the Church at Prayer: Reflections on Liturgy and Language.

Off topic, but I think your readers would like to know Cardinal Burke will be celebrating the 9 a.m. Mass this coming Sunday, Nov. 15, low pontifical Mass, Tridentine. I'll have to offer up the pain of catching the 65 bus early on a Sunday to make it.
If you go to Westminster Cathedral on Saturday at 2pm, Cardinal Burke will be celebrating a Pontifical Requiem Mass and you can still get a good lie-in! Details on the Latin Mass Society website.The Cardinal will have a busy weekend.
I find it strange nobody so far has commented on the video. Perhaps like me they found the sound too muffled and had to give up? Pity there were no subtitles as I would have been most interested to learn from it.
There is an article today from the Catholic Herald cited on Pewsitter in which it tells of Francis' advice to a mixed marriage (Catholic/Lutheran couple). They ask him about receiving the Holy Eucharist together in the Catholic Church. He tells them to 'discern it with the Lord'. And you are worried about maligning this man?
