Do read Monsignor Gordon Read in the Newsletter of the Canon Law Society of Great Britain and Ireland on the [importance] Summorum Pontificum Art. 5. This is the common sense, plain reading approach to the the Motu Proprio.
The more this document is read in the light of common sense, the less likely it will be that silly interpretive documents will be issued by certain dioceses, and the less likely Bishops will suffer the humiliation of having to retract documents they issue.

Thank you, Father, for the link.
The document written by Mons.Gordon Read "Summorum Pontificum" is remarkable for its common sense.
(I do wonder why common sense is in such short supply these days.)
That's a very interesting combox, too, over at Father Z's blog.
It makes bettter reading than some bishops' letters we've seen recently ..
And another thing :
I see the Catholic Herald has spashed the story about the letter to clergy from the Cardinal Archbishop of Westminster to the clergy of his diocese :
"Cardinal : bishops must be
consulted over Mass".
MUST be consulted !
I thought Summorum Pontificum said more or less the exact opposite.
I see the Herald goes on to mention Archbishop Ranjith's recent speech.
And there's a very thoughtful editorial.
