Benediction last night, someone took a few photographs, these are the best of them, with no flash everything is drained of colour and takes on sepia hue.

The sacred pure and simple: we look at the good God in worship, and the Good God looks at us in blessing.
heart-warming!
Worship - what we are made for - thank you for these beautiful pictures. St Mary Magdalene Church has had a lot of hard work and devotion put into restoration and upkeep giving glory to God.
Benediction - a distant memory.
Then there's the Mass whereby we feel privileged to come into God's presence with gifts of incense and flame and unworldly praise with a sense of the awesomeness of the Almighty, of humility because of the miracle before us.
Then, as Michael Voris mentioned on a vortex, there's mass whereby we think, ain't God privileged that we bothered to show up.
Fr Blake,
Our parish is blessed to have Exposition and Benediction every week; it is a truly beautiful service (though one my Eastern Rite family members cannot comprehend). I am glad that you have Exposition and Benediction in Brighton.
@viterbo, When praising someone or something, it is not necessary to be critical of others. Peace.
Our FSSP parish has Benediction every First Sunday. Wonderful.
Did you know that when being blessed by the Blessed Sacrament, you are not supposed to make the "sign" of the cross. Signs are not required when a person is confronted with reality.
Lovely Fr. Ray.
We are hoping to have benediction soon.
Forgive me Father,
I include myself in that 'we'.
Our Novus Ordo parish has Benediction every first Saturday after the morning Mass (spelled with a capital "M" for those of you who don't know the difference between a Mass and a mass).
So, so beautiful. Thanks for posting.
Bendiction was such a marvellous way of deepening and understanding the Faith. No books were needed, you just had to remember how O Salutaris and Tantum Ergo went, you felt so Catholic.
For me, it is a great privilege to be able to recall Bendiction, but such a sadness to recall that so many millons and millions of Catholics have been unjustly (I could use stronger words) deprived of it as a result of the wicked "Spirit of Vatican II".
On the very, very few times I have been able to attend Benediction in the last 40 or so years, my happiness has been modulated by the omission of singing the "Adoremus" after the Responses, such a beautiful piece of sacred music it brings deep tears to me.
I wonder if the "Bishop of Rome" ever celebrates this wonderful Catholic service ?
Thank you for posting, Father. It is so good to see this happening. In our parish we used to have exposition, evening prayer and Benediction once a month. It was a highlight. Alas, when we had a change of PP, along with the scrubbing of the word "mass", it was abandoned!
I love Benediction. It's one of the reasons I love the traditional Mass: one gets a miniature Benediction of one's very own at Holy Communion. Here Jesus is giving us His own Self in Holy Communion, which is more than enough; but He precedes even this with an extra blessing. "It is only goodness which gives extras," as Arthur Conan Doyle said through the lips of Sherlock Holmes.
P.S. I think the sepia-esque tone adds warmth and beauty to these photos.
