Procrastination and the Argus
I am very grateful, to one particular reader, Dr Colin Harte, who has been working very hard on my account.
We are trying to get matters resolved but the editor of the Argus who for some reason is procrastinating, maybe waiting for legal advice, maybe for affirmation from Gannett Company in the States who own the ghastly rag.
I want to express my thanks to those who have offered me their help and support over the last few days, especially the bishops from abroad, priests and deacons from everywhere, friends and some foes too, some exceptional journalists, bloggers, people who have made comments here and elsewhere. I seriously did consider giving up blogging, it is horrid to have a parishioner showing you an article in which a complete stranger can trash everything you feel is important and ascribe something vile as your opinion, and when even those who should know better think what is reported is actually what you believe or wrote, these are Der Stürmer tactics. I had hoped this might have been resolved before resuming blogging.

Dear Fr Blake.
There are thousands of devout Catholics standing with you.
On the Feast Day of The Most Holy Name of Mary, be assured that Our Lady also stands with you. Against Her, nothing will prevail.
in Domino.
We support you absolutely. We do a soup run during term time and we know from that small work exactly what you meant in the first post. Working with the homeless can be a frustrating, emotionally draining, unhappy experience, but we know that we need to ignore these human responses and try to see the people we're working with and for in the same way as Jesus sees them. You'll remain in our prayers till this is all sorted. Ideally you'd get some sort of financial compensation from the Argus over this slur on your character and be able to use it to take the holiday that you deserve.
Dear Fr Blake,
I am so happy that you have decided to continue blogging and are receiving well deserved support. I hope that this matter can be sorted out for you but also for anyone against whom journalists think they can say anything and get away with it.
Dear Father,
A barking dog is a good sign that your horse is moving forward.
Counsel from the Lord: In the world you shall have tribulation but fear not, I have conquered the world.
God bless you and keep you.
A friend from distant Buenos Aires.
Father,
Foremost, many thanks for this blog entry and the previous one. For many of us who do not belong to your Parish and have been most concerned about you because of recent events can only keep track of updates by way of your blog. You are carried in prayer and it is hoped that you continue to write about your ministry in Brighton.
God bless
“these are Der Stürmer tactics.”
" The Persecution of the Catholic Church in the Third Reich” is a book full with descriptions of those "Stürmer tactics":
http://www.amazon.com/Persecution-Catholic-Church-Third-Reich/dp/1589801377
It is a documentation published anonymously by the Bavarian Bishop Johann Neuhäusler to inform the Americans what was going on in Germany. This book brought him 4,5 years in the prison in Dachau.
BTW, these are not only “Stürmer tactics”, the same tactics were used by the communists:

I agree with Chloe
I too am glad that you have come back to blogging. May God bless and keep you.
Dear Father,
thank you for your priesthood.
