From old Brighton to New Brighton: Congratulations
Have just been enjoying looking at Fr Henry's report of the opening of the new shrine of the Blessed Sacrament in the Wirrall of Ss Peter and Paul and St Philomena's church
look here and here
and there is Flickr page here
As Fr Henry says, it is good to see something opening rather than closing. It is run by the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest, an initiative of Bishop Mark Davies.
From old Brighton to New Brighton: congratulations.
I was invited but only last Monday but I very much appreciate the gesture.

We pray the Holy Mother, for us, Nuestra Senora Santa Maria de Guadalupe, keep them in the fold of her mantle, and form them in the image of her Son.
If you can't make it at least send one of your vestments, or maybe a chalice of yours that you may be there at least in some small way.
God be with you, Padre.
Que Dios te bendiga.

I'm really, really confused. I thought the shrine was opening at 10:30 this morning. Yet this was posted last night! Can someone explain? I know the clocks went forward and all but it shouldn't make this much difference!
A beautiful homily given by Bp Mark Davies on the complementarity of both the old and the new, and them being but one form of the same missal. So wonderful to see a bishop who speaks his mind, and the teachings of the Church and the wishes of Pope Benedict.
congratulations to the Institute and Ad multos annos Bp Mark Davies.
Te Deum Laudamus
Emily, Certainly but maybe the morning isn't the right time, telephone me, tell me what you think.
In the summer maybe the evenings might be better, ask others, if you know them.
As always the comments of the presiding diocesan bishop turn a beautiful event into a fancy dress.
Is that the same William Hudson who was at school with me in Westgate ? Well well !!!
God Bless you all
Miss Dorothy Darbyshire
