I found a link to this little toy on Valle Adurni, it tells you whose style you write in.
I fed the piece I wrote on Remembrance in and the analysis was I write like Oscar Wilde! Some of my older parishioners remember the elderly, very eccentric, Lord Alfred Douglass (Bozey) coming here to Mass, he was a parishioner. The altar severs were told by the then PP that under no account were they to take sweets from His Lordship!
That is not the story, I dont know if I should reveal this, I'll get into trouble, but I fed in the Bishops' statement on the Ordinariates and, well they write like...
err...
...answer in the combox.

It was DAN BROWN!!!
Weird! So do I!
Apparently, I write like James Joyce. Having read bits of Ulysses, I'm not sure that's an improvement...
that's hilarious!! who woulda thunk?
According to Lord Douglas' entry on Wikipedia he had an affair with Oscar Wilde before he became a Catholic.
I enjoyed doing this too and apparently I write like an American Sci-Fi writer who I had never heard of and whose name now escapes me. The only good thing was that on looking him up he turned out to be several years younger than me!
As for the result of the Bishops I shall make no comment!
My teacher used to call me "Dr Johnson" - unfortunately this little gadget of yours says I too write like Dan Brown:( though I've never read any of his books or seen the films!
Recently an obituary appeared in The Times for the man who, allegedly, wrote the speeches for USA President JF Kennedy. It prompts a thought: Is Dan Brown ghost-writing for the Bishops' Conference?
I have just put in Pope's speech during a General Audience after his recent visit to the UK. The "analysis" says that he writes like Dan Brown too!
I tried it on three different texts.
One was a scientific argument concerning the prospect of intelligent life in the Galaxy (I thought it most improbable). The conclusion was that I wrote like Arthur Clark.
Then I posted an article I wrote on memories of Hillsborough 1989 with some Catholic references. The conclusion - James Joyce
Finally I added an account of my impressions on reading Dostoyevski's 'The Devils'. By this time I had sussed it out and was not surprised to be told that I wrote in the style of Leo Tolstoy.
Hmmm...William Shakespeare!
Somehow, I doubt The Bard would feel honored...
I don't beleeeve it.
Suffice to say I expect shortly to be appointed Secretary to the Bishops' Conference.
Was James Fennimore Cooper an argumentitive sceptic and doubting Thomas ? If so then my analysis is on the button
Nothing to do with this post!
I understand the Pope has asked for a vigil for nascent life next weekend. Can anyone direct me to a church in Sussex where such a service will be held?
Nicolas Bellord
Well I got Stephen King..never read one of his books but might do now!
I seem to write like H.P. Lovecraft, whoever they are.
santoeusebio - St John the Evangelist in Horsham is having evening prayer and benediction at 4pm on Saturday 27th November
I applied two texts of mine to the analysis. The first one told me that I write like Mary Shelley and the second that I write like H.P. Lovecraft.
Somehow....Nah!
Couldn't resist the temptation so I entered some of the fabulous work of that extremely generous Tory benefactor Lord Julian Alexander Fellowes,my poor old Mac nearly blue a fuse and turned itself off.
Who writes like Harriet Harman?
Dan Brown? Urr! Too funny! But it said I write like H.P. Lovecraft, so I can't laugh all that much. Popular bumper sticker in Kansas, USA in 2008: Cthulu For President. Why Settle For The Lesser of Two Evils?
I really like this blog, Father.
Peace,
Mr. John Heuertz, OP

Of course now you would have to get a CRB check on Lord Alfred Douglas.
