Shanghai, government: war is on against Marian shrine

Roadblocks, restrictions, registration. Hotels and restaurants prohibited from welcoming pilgrims. For the Patriotic Association, the faithful must remain in their dioceses, praying for peace, for the pope, for the Olympics, and for good results for the Chinese athletes. Attempts underway to divide the official and underground Catholics from the universal Church.

Dear Fr;,

Thank you so much for bringing this story to our attention. The FFSP are encouraging a novena for Catholics in China during this month, who are suffering terribly. See http://www.fssp.org/objet/com20080428EN.htm I will encourage members of my community to pray this novena. fr. A. Religious
