How sad the Jesuits in Birmingham are hosting A Call To Action in Manressa House this weekend.
Manressa House is the home of the novitiate for the Provinces of Britain, Ireland, the Netherlands and North Belgium. Presumably this event is taking place with the agreement of the Provincial and the "Formators" at Manressa House.
How far they are from that unserving loyalty to the Church for which St Edmund Campion died.
St Ignatius must be weeping.
I miss attributed the organisation of the Brentwood event to a very reputable priest, my appologies.
It was in fact organised by an ex-priest a Mr Tony Castle at St Thomas of Canterbury church hall in Grays, Essex, who is in fact a school inspector.

The advertisement does not say what action is being called for. I can think of some action that is overdue. Read my comments about this Jesuit parish here.
There is definitely a need for action by someone responsible for oversight of charge of the place, whether it is bishop or Jesuit provincial (it is part of the German province, I think).
Of course Brentwood is due for a new bishop. Let's hope that we get someone good.I would encourage people of the Brentwood Diocese tp make representations to the nuncio.
Oh we know what kind of action they are calling for Physiocrat: http://marklambert.blogspot.com/2012/12/call-to-action-dissent-group-meetings.html Campion, one of my heroes must be weeping in heaven. This is even more pertinent when one considers it in the light of his 'Brag': "The expense is reckoned, the enterprise is begun; it is of God; it cannot be withstood. So the faith was planted: So it must be restored."
I love this bit from the Call to Action statement. Its so disingenuous:
"We hope to create a climate of trust and respect for all, where this dialogue may be fostered.”
The translation is:
"We hope to create a climate of distrust and lack of respect for the Vatican and the church hierarchy so that our dissent may be fostered and nurtured."
The liberals really are some of the biggest bs'ers of all time.
I am waiting to see the damage the Jesuits are going to do, now they have returned to The Holy Name, Manchester - which they abandoned 20 years ago. So far the omens are not good!
Sadly, this Manresa House used to be a long time ago, a place forming saints. I have read many books which came from that place, by scholars from the early part of the 20th century which indicated the high orthodox and academic leanings. They loved Thomas Aquinas in those days.
When I was a graduate student at NDU, many Jesuit students were there and each one was a heretic of some sort-either owing to Marxism, Liberation Theology, or wanting womynpriests, or just plain making up the liturgy as they saw fit. Nothing has changed as Call to Action is still holding on to these ideologies.
Where are the internal reformers?
Sadly, these are not the J's who educated me, and whom I greatly admired.
How far they have fallen
I can only observe that the order was suppressed before by Clement XIV. It can be suppressed again.
One house for the novices of four countries? Speaks for itself.
