Bad News: Church Closed!

We are going to have to closed the church for the next few days by order of the Health and Safety Executive whilst we get rid of the asbestos the accursed workmen disturbed in the crypt.

I can understand why some priests turn to drink or worst! It times like this one when feels particularly alone.

We are going to have to have to have Mass in our Parish Centre over the weekend, how we do it I don't know, it is going to be quarts into pint pots.

During the week there will only be Mass at 10am in the Parish Centre, there will be no Friday evening Mass and to be on the safe side the Missa Solemnis on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception is cancelled.
If you come here on Sundays try and go elsewhere.
Say a prayer God will speed the work.

"it is going to be quarts into pint pots".

Just like in days gone by, Father, with the congregation spilling out the back door and down the steps.

Cheer up and think positive!

Don't worry. We often turn up to find our church closed. It's been going on for years.

Mass is often cancelled with no notice. The various keyholders can't be bothered to open the church or keep it open during times when working people need to visit.

It's cool. We get it.

Happy Advent.

It is good to see a Priest make a place that is worthy of the Blessed Sacrament.

Good on you, Padre.

I will be at Tepeyac Hill for the Feast Day of Nuestra Senora Santa Maria de Guadalupe; I will remember you in our Novena prayers.

Sorry to hear your news. Why not ask a neighbouring Anglican Church if they can offer hospitality?
An Anglican Priest.

My prayers are with you and your congregation! Don't give up, Father.

If you offer up your worries, our Lord will be even more pleased with the worthy place you create for him - knowing that it is not only a place in your parish church but also a place in your heart.

Oj vey. Poor you. Trouble always brings its friends!

Get a few of yours, go for a walk in the country, finish up in a pub, then go back to someone's and watch a cheerful film. With crisps.

Sorry to hear about the asbestos. We found out that my late parents' home in Cheshire had it in the loft - via a buyer's survey - and just as my two big sisters were off to the U.S. for two weeks. So Baby sis organised it all from London, and it took two days - and they were super-efficient and cleaned up brilliantly. It cost about £2-3k. I hope you have similar luck. Use a specialist and shop around if you are not already committed

Hard luck! But think how much you'll save on heating bills.

Ditto Berenike, and maybe a heaven-sent opportunity to get out the toboggan ...

Dear Reverend Father, My Prayers are with you and your Parish. May your Patron Saint Mary Magdelen intercede for you.

At least you'll know it's done so it will become a solution rather than a problem. God working in mysterious ways again.

Look at it this way: it's temporary, whereas I have a permanent prob.

I live at the centre of a triangle of churches and have to steel myself to attend the one least likely to bring me out in hives.

I'll keep going with the Memorare for your intention. Our Lady will come up trumps.

Can't we borrow St Michael and All Angels for an hour? Is it one of those High Anglican places that is going to come over to Rome? The acoustics are wonderful. We once sang some chant there.
