Yesterday I looked up a few old friends and joined one or two in prayer, I was amazed by the numbers at the papal audience yesterday, the piazza was almost full.
The crib had an unexpectant occupant
At Matins/the Office of Readings on Holy Saturday the Church gives us this 'ancient homily', I find it incredibly moving, it is abou...

A ringer for my Molly - since last June safe in the arms of Jesus!
The cat probably belongs to Mulier Fortis
Yes, I have 'lost one' Father. Bruno left this French home about six months ago. Reckon he could have made it to Rome in that time. He was an ingenious and determined fellow. Probably thought he had more chance of seeing the Holy Father than I did.
It looks very like him but sadly I don't really believe it is he.
Have a wonderful time in the Eternal City. Prayers for you always.
Maybe that's the same cat as in Father Z's blog, the one who put his head under running water?
I'd keep an eye on that cat. They like to sneak up on infants and suffocate them in their cribs!!!!
[Every cat except Mulier's Sylvester, Michael's Molly, and Jane's Bruno. ;-D]
Oh, dear, I think my cat, Sodak, just bilocated!
The skies are always blue in Rome. It is the most wonderful City in the world.
Right, gemoftheocean.
Molly was afraid of babies. And dogs, fireworks and thunderstorms, though I think her high-end hearing might have failed by the time she reached extreme old age - she was 21 when she died.
Thats what comes of having a cat-lover in the Vatican!
Father, its a black cat. I remember you did a post on how italians go around kililng black cats because they're viewed as evil.
Has the Holy Father introduced some kind of declaration of peace with black cats?
Sorry, just caught up.
Gem: Thanks for the exemption, which is more than justified!
Laurence:
He's probably in 'cordial and constructive dialogue'' with the Cat Delegation at this very moment. Apparently he approves their 'right of sanctuary' in the Vatican gardens'. He has been pleading with them not to annoy the gardeners and guards by scratching up the azeleas in order to bury their 'letters of credence' - to put it politely. Whether or not they have acceded to his request has yet to be revealed by Fr. Lombardi.
I think his name may be Claude, and he belongs to Father Pat, over at humblepiety blog.
