Tiscali problems continue

Problems continue, I haved managed to publish a few of your comments. If I place my laptop on the sink in my bathroom at a particular angle I can use the free access internet link of the Windmill pub across the road.
I hate Tiscali, don't sign up with them! They are useless!

Or alternatively, take your laptop with you to the pub and enjoy a beer while using free internet access...

Geez, I don't even know Tiscali, and I hate them. Your blog is such a good read and not only are they persecuting you, they are persecuting your readers.

Do you have a backup dial up account?

Sorry did you say laptop over the bathroom sink & signal from across the road? how did you find that out? lol

Father - a friend shares your view!

BT Broadband works well for me. It's more expensive than Tiscali, but I've had few problems. There are also some special offers on at moment. Might help you (I'm not linked in any other way with BT, BTW)

Maybe you should go and sit in the Windmill, Father!

Fr. Ray,

Please let us know if you want us to start a novena to St. Isidore of Seville, patron saint of the internet, for your speedy reconnection. And also for the general intentions of Tiscali.

Almighty and eternal God, who created us in Thine image and bade us to seek after all that is good, true and beautiful, especially in the divine person of Thine only-begotten Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, grant we beseech Thee that, through the intercession of Saint Isidore, bishop and doctor, during our journeys through the internet we will direct our hands and eyes only to that which is pleasing to Thee and treat with charity and patience all those souls whom we encounter.
Through Christ our Lord.
Amen.

Father,

Can't you get another internet provider ?
It's horrible trying to live life without your blog.

How long, O Lord ?

Why not go over and have a pint?

Heroic efforts Father! LOL

Father
I am sorry about this problem-blogging from a strange angle at a sink seems difficult-if I was you I would take the lap top across the road to the pub and blog with a pint :)

Father, i have been a subscriber to BT for 18 months now and in that time i have NEVER had any problems with my internet connection and the customer support so far has been excellent. Ditch Tiscali ASAP and find a better IP.Good luck

Ahem... I am now with Tiscali and, after a few teething problems, am quite happy with them, above all because they have just given us free phone calls to all sorts of international destinations, including US and Canada Mobiles, not that I ever get to phone those.

Who on earth is Tiscali? He sounds like a superannuated cardinal to me. Good luck with the sink.

I love anon's idea of a Cardinal Tiscali... wasn't he the one with the flowing white beard who followed Paul VI around.

I agree with Mac, Anon, Paulinus and WSNS: nip acoss the road to the Windmill.
You could blog from there, and have some refreshment at the same time.

Meanwhile, I think Francis has got the right idea : a novena to St. Isidore of Seville.

There is nothing like the power of prayer.

Have just returned from a week away and looked forward to catching up on your blog. Most disappointed to see you are still 'out of order' and do hope you can get it fixed soon.

Why do you have a sink in your bathroom.

Still not up yet? I'm about to:

1. cobble together a photoshopped oeuvre of Bill Gates holding a sign saying "Tiscali"

2. soak said photo in the blood of a chicken

3. Let photo it dry

4. set the whole thing on fire.

5. then I'm going to wrap the ashes up along with a few dead fish in newspaper

6. send it to their company director with the note "If you know what's good for you, you'll get Fr. Ray's connection up and running - FOR FREE - for the next year. Starting today" or Karen's half Sicilian godfather comes around to "talk to you."

Say the word.

[Like Jackie, I have a womanly curiosity to know how in heck you figured out that your wife works if you hold it over the bathroom sink! That's an act of true desparation]

Cardinal Tiscali sounds like he was a buddy of the late Cardinal Bugnini, and that probably explains why you have been taken off line.

It seems extremely strange. Maybe there is something wrong also with your computer? Hardware or software/windows setup?

I'm using Tiscali and have only had 5 days without the internet in about 9 months since signing with them. I did have to pay £20 for the router from them and i pay £15 a month for my broadband, i don't now if that provides me with a better interent speed/connection? (there are 3 laptop users in our house so that is quite reasonable i think)

I am thinking of looking elsewhere but that is because i need to cut back on my outgoings...but i fear doing so because i've been with AOL, Freeserve, NTL, Virgin and now Tiscali and Tiscali are the only ones who have provided me with a consistant service thus far.

Of course, what will now happen is that it goes to pot...as everything is want to do whenever i mention how well a thing is going!
