As an Anglican one is continully pedalling from one odd position to another odd position.
I am glad I belong to the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. I do think that so many of the things happening in the Anglican Church are an obvious indications that it is neither One, Holy, Catholic, Apostolic or even a Church.
"Dominus Jesus", Cardinal Ratzinger's document was right it is just an "Ecclesial Community".
"Gays must change"
"People who masturbate must change"
"Thieves must change"
"Adulterers must change"
"Liars must change"
"People who fornicate must change"
"Murderers must change"
Please insert your own type of mortal sinner in to the space to fit your own prejudices "............. must change."
In the Catholic Church it is not a pre-requisite to be a Saint in order to enter into her membership. Therefore, you will find some of her members are gay, some practising, some desperately lonely, some struggling along the way, but all loved by Christ, who waits for all sinners with unconditional tenderness and mercy, the embodiment and Sign of which is the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
I just wish people from the poor old CofE would change.
Give up all that old nonsense and become Catholics. Follow Newman and Manning - change, you really must, you want to really. Come on.
You'll like when you have, even the liturgy, you get used to it. Don't delay it, do it today. Change for the sake of your soul, change.
Bravo, Laurence! I agree with everything you say!
