Fourth Commandment

The fourth commandment: Honour your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which the Lord your God gives you.
The Commemoration of the Faithful depart is an indication of our "rootedness", remembering our own history, our family, those who have gone before us. The fourth commandment ends with the promise of being "long in the land", when we forget our dead we risk loosing our own place in the world.
