An Experiment - Sunday EF Mass at 9am

I have been celebrating a Sunday Mass in the Extraordinary form on the third Sunday at 7pm, after Ordinary Form Mass at 6pm. Following "requests from the faithful", for an experimental period, initially, from the first Sunday of Advent until the Sunday before the beginning of Lent, I will celebrate the Extraordinary Form of Mass  at 9am every Sunday (it will be Low Mass - maybe some Catholic family might come and sing polyphony which would be very nice if God could arrange that).

The problem is if I am ill or on holiday there will be no-one in the local area to say Mass in my place.

In marketing terms it is another of our USPs, (unique selling points).

Brilliant Father, I'll be there!

Is that a hint?

Rupert, I am known for my subtlety!
Bread cast on waters, bread cast on waters.

If God wants this it will succeed.

I have no doubt about your subtlety, father, or about you finding your bread again.

I wish you every success with this venture, dear Father. I look forward to hearing how you get on.

Excellent news!!! Deo Gratias! Even if you are ill or away it's not the end of the world - it only means one or two sundays a year without the EF. In other words, it is an enormous gain. It will doubtless increase the faith of the people.

I too wish you every success - if only other priests who can celebrate the Old Mass followed your example

Well done Father. May other priests follow your good example.

Are you far from the station Father?

Come summer and Thameslink running through at the weekend ever 15 minutes again, I see a distinct opportunity to take the kids to Brighton for the day. By getting up early we can get there for EF mass at 9AM first then head for the beach :-)

Paul,
About 10mins.

And meanwhile... some of us are still struggling to get one Mass a month. We need more priests to learn how to celebrate the EF Mass. If any such priests are reading this, please stop dithering and book yourselves onto the LMS priests training course next April.

Thanks for letting me get that out of my system, Father!

May God bless your new every-Sunday Mass. Perhaps your parishioner of Ballad of Summorum Pontificum can help start a choir.

Best wishes from a California Anglofile. May your reward be in Heaven.
