++ VN has painted himself into a corner with this one, I think.
"I can't feeling that many clergy would be grateful for a group of parents enthusiatic about passing on the faith to their children"
Indeed.
Thank you for that video. I agree with your comments - although some might not appreciate enthusiastic parents. I fear we still have some among us who think laity "should pay up, pray up and shut up".
Absolutely right, Fr Ray.
Is it not possible to clone these parents and place them outside (and inside) every Catholic school in this country? Please excuse the comment, Fr Ray, but once again it will be the laity that will save the Church from the chaos imposed by (many of) the clergy.
I know that man leading the prayer vigil, I thought excitedly to myself. I saw him in a local supermarket and he pointed out a reduced item to me. Yes, it must be him.
So. This is a rum do, isn't it? More background on one of the key players in this saga is here by the way.
I'm trying to get my head around this affair but as yet the peices in the jigsaw puzzle aren't fitting into place. I'm fairly certain we have to factor in the Greg Pope appointment to deputy director of the CES but still I haven't worked out what's going on.
Ok, so we know that this is a long running thing but - qui bono? - why does Westminster Diocese want to crush the Vaughan? Still not clear.
The problem, it seems to me, with a lot of orthodox Catholics is that their analysis focuses solely on the doctrinal side of things. Nothing wrong with that but it misses out the political aspect of the CBCEW's machinations.
Until the Vaughan Parents and others can work out the politics of this policy, they're fighting with one hand behind their back.
Just a thought ...
