A hush has come over the blogosphere, "Where will it end?" people mutter.
The more charitable, at the CDW, suggest that at least the guitar is white: perhaps there is a tiny papal stemma on it. Others wonder if it just the first step before...
Are there dancers - liturgical - behind that green curtain? Is the next step Garage on the tromba marina.

...err, puppets.

Well, when he comes to stay with me he plays the racket, rackett or ranket, a decent traddie baroque instrument: listen here.. The above photographs have been doctored by T*%$#t readers who bug Blackfen.
So there you have it, Fr Z is really a secret racket player, NOT an aging hippy
repeat NOT AN AGING HIPPY
but he is racketeer!

Is Father Z learning about the music in the Third Edition Roman Missal. He He :).
Father, As a tromba marina player and a Tablet reader, I think you take a less than flattering view of both: try this:

Tromba marina aside, I didn't anticipate Garage being mentioned in this Blog. Time for a nice herbal infusion methinks...
Pssst Gigi,
What is Garage? I don't know.
Yeah, right. That's some bong, Father.
Oh bother. Yet ANOTHER baroque racket player! I had thought Fr. Z would be a little less pedestrian in his leisure pursuits.

Garage Music
Garage music - is that what you play at a garage sale?
Garage Father? Well, there's the original term "garage music", which was actually a form of rock music in the states - between rock'n'roll and punk. Played by amateur young bands in their fathers' garages. Now, "garage" today is electro dance music: featuring sampled beats from other dance music: became popular around five or six years ago I think. Not actually my cup of Earl Grey, and I have no idea what "Grime" is. (I don't know the Latin for any of this).
A new series is called for. 'Father Ted' will fade into insignificance compared with 'Father Zed' - comedy at its very best.
Gigi, Oh I thought it was the modern equivalent of "tower" music - you know shawms, sackbuts percussion, that you didn't want inside but did want to be heard by the neighbourhood.
I thought Garage was similar except you didn't quite want it heard outside either, so it was played in a garage but with door shut!
Excellent Blog this is: shawms, garage and Father Ted on one page!
