My father told me one of my relatives, Laura Turner, is running in the Olympics. I think she is a second cousin once removed, I've never met her. It is surprising how much she looks like him when he was younger.Not wanting to encourage Chinese oppression I am not watching the Olympics.

You are not the only one who refuses to watch any of the Olympics Father. One of my cousins could not believe it when I told her that I actually refused to watch any of it.
I can only say that I will be very glad when it is all over.

Before the games started, i felt it was appropriate to protest. Now, watching the athletes compete, to see their determination to win, it becomes about them and not about the host nation. To watch our British cyclist win the Gold in the cycling on Sunday was a truely remarkable event. It is sad to take away her glory by merely focusing on China.
Given your known love of all things of a sporting nature, I can't imagine it really is much of a sacrifice not to watch the Olympics.

I am not going to watch the Olympics either. I would rather watch paint dry than watch sport on TV.
