Watching the build up to Mass at Bellahouston, even with only 65,000 people the crowds look huge. Apparently some of the government officials were amazed at the intense joy of the crowds lining the streets. The crowds at Bellahouston seem equally enthusiastic.
I hope that we can fill the streets of London tomorrow and Saturday, I can't go on Saturday but I am going up tomorrow after a funeral.

Not wishing to rain on the parade but the Kyrie apart the Glaswegian liturgy is a shambles thus far.
Can’t agree with Sadie. I was in Bellahouston Park for the whole Mass and I think that it was very reverent and well-conducted. By the way, I normally attend Mass in the EF on Sundays so I am no raving, “No Latin, here” nutter and definitely not someone who thinks that good hymn-writing only started in the 1960s. I was only too pleased to sing “Soul of My Saviour” and “Hail Redeemer, King Divine”. Bring on much more of that please. But I thought the other music was also good. And the Pope’s homily was excellent.
