Jane wrote to me from her French Oasis to ask what is happening in the UK, or elsewhere for that matter, with Cardinal Hummes idea of Spiritual Mother's of priests. Jane, encouraged by Fr Mark, has started a blog called naturally Spiritual Mothers of Priests.
As far as I know not much is happen in my diocese or anywhere else, or am I wrong?

I think I'd rather be a spiritual sister with most priests being older than moi!
Since last year I've been offering up my Sunday Rosary for priests. Saturday is dedicated to seminarians. So there's been some individual efforts all along.

There is indeed a great deal of individual and hidden effort. There are already 17 hidden spiritual mothers and their friends in touch with me by email, to help the new blog keep a constantly updatedglobal picture of how much prayer for priests is going on. They tell me which diocese they are in and how they live their own spiritual motherhood. I then publish the info. without compromising their identityor giving their names on the blog.
If you want to help by doing that, please email me

Catholic Mom:
Seriously, it doesn't matter how old you are. And it's 'Motherhood' grounded in the example of Our Lady and St. John, although in most models of spiritual motherhood the 'mother and the 'son' do not know each other personally.
Again if you're interested please email me.
Father Ray,
Thanks very much indeed for your help.

Over in Ireland we write to an organisation they give you a priest's name on a prayer card and you pray for him daily or more often if prompted. It is called St. Michael's Apostolate of prayer for priests.
