Say a prayer for one of my parishioners who phoned me yesterday to say that she had, "set fire to her arm". This is the latest in a history 0f self harm.

Prayer said. I hope she has a good psychotherapist.
I have to admit I used to find working with people who self harmed really hard going-but if they did find healing, it was incredibly rewarding; like watching a butterfly emerge from a warped and damaged chrysalis.
Does that sound stupidly sentimental? It's just that it really was like that.
