Several nice nuggets in there, Father. The only thing I took exception to is towards the end where he said that being a son of Abraham means that he was Jewish. Well that's not true. Obviously Moslems are descended from Abraham and they're not Jewish. To be Jewish you have to be descended from Judah. All that being a descendant of Abraham gets you is to be a Semite. Otherwise very good presentation.

Being a son of Abraham, makes you Jewish! The offspring of Abraham and the maid-servant Hagar, Ishmael, was illegitimate and thrown out of the land of Canaan, by Abraham at the DEMANDS of Sarah. God even said to Abraham:"Do not be distressed about the boy or about your slave woman. Heed the DEMANDS of Sarah, no matter what she is asking for you; for it through Issac that the descendants shall bear your name..."(Genesis 21:12) God, himself, said that the Jews, sons of Abraham through Issac, will only be considered Jewish, bearing Abraham's name. The Muslims were to be a separate nation, bearing only the name of Ishmael. God continues to state this in Genesis 21:13.
God also says earlier in the Bible, after the birth of Ishmael, in Genesis 16:12 in regards to the boy: "He shall be a wild ass of a man, his hand against everyone, and every-one's hand against him; In opposition to all his kin shall he encamp." Here God states that the descendants of Abraham shall always fight with the descendants of Ishmael. It was true then and it is true now, the Jews and Muslims are still at each other's throats!
THE DESCENDANTS OF ABRAHAM ARE THE JEWS AND CHRIST, OUR LORD, AND US, THE NEW ISRAEL OF THE NEW COVENANT! GOD, THE FATHER, HIMSELF REVEALS THIS TO US IN DIVINE WORD!!
Fr Guy gave a great meditation on the Genealogy of Jesus along with the O Antiphons..Apparently it is mentioned 3 times yesterday Wed, the birth of Our Lady., & the Christmas Vigil Mass. Fascinating.
In Jewish law the husband of a married woman is presumed to be the natural father of her child unless the contrary is proven in court or he makes a unilateral disclaimer of paternity.
But he is prevented (estopped) from a disclaimer once he acts as though he were the father - as Joseph did when he named Jesus.
So the law of inheritance transmits the royal office from Joseph to Jesus. Since Jesus was born King of the Jews Joseph must have abdicated with effect from the birth.
By the way, bobd, to be Jewish you have to have been born of a Jewish mother.
